Keeping Busy

Our rider wouldn't start for me today. So, I push mowed a fair
amount of our yard. I figured it was as good of workout as I would get. I set the mower pretty low and ended up with clumps of grass spewed out all over. Oh well, I got really close to the trees and landscaping and a bonus, I won't have to mow for a while.

Now I ask "What does a 3 yr old do while mom mows the lawn??"
Play with the clippings, of course!!

Mya gives a new meaning to "green thumb" and adds in "green toes".

Turns out she had the stroller full of clippings and dumped it out so that she could make grass birthday cakes for us complete with stick candles. Gotta hand it to her for having a great imagination.

Pesky buggers!!!

UGGGGHHH!! I hate these little critters and as you probably guessed, we get more than our share living next to wetlands. Mya got about 15 bites in 10 minutes while we were planting flowers yesterday. I need to mow the back today and will have to do it coated in DEET. Gotta Love it!!!

Printing your blog??

OK blogger buddies, when I started this thing, nearly a year ago, I thought it would make an easy way to record life's activities and not have to mess with a baby book. Now my problem is printing off the whole thing. Has anyone out there done it and if so, is there an easy way??!!

Fun in the Rain

We had a little rain shower as I was finishing mowing the lawn today. Mya loved it and I took some shots of her playing and getting wet. Apparently, it is important to put your hands up while you are having your picture taken.

Happy Memorial Day!!

Hope you all are enjoying your holiday weekend. As per tradition, Memorial weekend has been cool and cloudy here.

I am spending my weekend at the hospital. I always joke that I work side by side with doctors, saving lives. This weekend has been filled with seriously sick patients. That probably sounds silly since I work in a hospital but the truth is there are some that need more attention (and lab work) than others. So, I would have to say, I can truly feel like we made a difference this weekend. Thankfully, we have not had any traffic incidents.
Be safe and have a great Holiday!!

What did YOU have for Breakfast??

Here's some Friday fun. This morning, after I had my coffee and Mya had her apple juice, we headed up to the kitchen to find something solid to eat. Now, I know that some of you are very structured in this area but I'm not a breakfast eater. So, every morning is a time for Mya to pick something to eat. Some days it's a pop tart. Other days, it's toast with sugar or peanut butter. Today, it was even more interesting. When Mya was searching through the cupboards, she saw the rice. I figured it couldn't be any worse than any other breakfast we've had. So, rice it was, covered with butter and brown sugar. So, what did you have for breakfast?? Leave a comment with your choices.

Second post for Today

Well, Mya and I did a little retail therapy. Mya go a "Cinderella" tea set, a new bike helmet, a dinosaur puzzle for 3 and older and various other tiny toys. She is playing tea set now. So, it was worth the trip.

I got some rice pudding (yum), cereal (also yum), pseudofed PE (for allergies) and other "mom" stuff.
My other form of therapy is a blog lift. Although I love kitties, the black was too dark. So some yellow and butterflies and that's better.

Lily Wear Deese (these)

So, you all know my mind has been on the next COP list and the long wait for Lily Grass (Lily Grace-grass is Mya's pronunciation). I haven't been saying much to Mya but obviously she is waiting too. Yesterday, she was asking questions and today, she is taking the clothes off of a doll and saying it is for Lily. Too cute. I had to explain that the clothes would be too small for Lily.

We received our packet from Bethany yesterday so that we can update our homestudy and we will most likely need to be refingerprinted.

It has been rainy here for the last 24 hours. We really need it. So, can't complain too much.

I'd love to do a lurkers post but not feeling like I have many viewers. We're not as colorful as Becky or Stef and certainly not Mr Brian, especialy after his dancing pictures. Tee Hee. However, if you do view, please know that I would love a comment.

Well, Mya would like some stickers and since I need to get out, the messy house can wait. We'll pick up some stickers, some groceries and maybe even an outfit and toy for Lily Grass.

Have a terrific day!!

Rainy Wednesday

Mya and I mowed the lawn this morning and laid down to nap this afternoon to wake up to some much needed rain. I was OK with the thunder but if freaked Mya out a bit. Then we lost our dish service due to the storm and put in a Dora video to distract her. What a life!!

Can't get my mind off of the COP list. Hoping it comes soon. We are at the point where we will be updating our home study. Yippee! Forgot to ask if that has a pricetag. Anyway, it is very discouraging some days and feels like it will never happen. Bummin' about that.

Aunt Lorraine

Thank you to all who have been praying for my aunt.

Lorraine succombed to the leukemia yesterday. She was a quiet type of person that loved being around her family. Her immediated family, my mom and her remaining sisters and all of us will greatly miss her. This was a very rapid illness and has left us reeling in some ways.

May the Lord comfort those left behind and give them peace knowing that Lorraine is with Him now.

Big Accomplishment!

Carrie chose to receive an assoc. degree from UW Superior and it was awarded yesterday.

She and Jon will spend the summer working for Jon's dad. They are very fortunate to have a business owner in the family. Jobs are at a premium for the summer.

They will move to CO in the fall and start their final rounds at colleges in Denver. Jon will finish in just over a year and Carrie has 2-3 yrs left.

YESTERDAY'S FESTIVITIES

Erin stopped and got Mya a cake yesterday because I was at work. As you can see, it was very well decorated and covered with candles--I counted 15. Apparently Mya had to have them all on there. The hat is from daycare. Mya took a snack along for all her friends.

Pix from Mya & GP's birthday bash.

.
Mitchell, Anna, Colette - Steph and Nicholas - These boys will likely be Mya's closest cousins in age - but I guess that is second cousin since they are her cousin's kids. Don't confuse the issue.

.
Mya just loves her cousin Jenny. David and Adrienne think Mya will be the flower girl for their wedding.

My friend Robin from work gave me a pinata for my birthday last fall. We used it to celebrate the BDs. Mya made off with a haul of candy.

Colette made Mya a birthday cake complete with the Thomas the Tanker Happy Birthday train on top. Pretty cute!! THanks Colette.

I must admit that I nabbed these photos from Colette and Colleen's blogs. (see sidebar). Fun to see what others catch in their viewfinders. Thanks for sharing sissies.

Happy Birthday Mya!!

Yep, Mya's 3 now. What a big girl!! It's a good thing she has such a wonderful sister to teach her the ways of the world and all the necessary looks to get by on. Check out Colleen's and Colette's blogs for more pix. I'm having technical difficulties here and have to run to work now. Mya is bringing a snack to preschool. It will be a quiet day here since we celebrated with GP 2 Sundays ago.

An Attempt at Poetry

I love you when you're happy

I love you when you're sad
I love you when you're silly
I love you when you're mad

I love you when you toot
I love you when you burp
I love you when you chomp
I love you when you slurp

Love is a committment
No matter how we feel
So I love you when you smile
And I love you when you squeal
Love wants the best for you.
Love is a choice
Love does not have to be
spoken with our voice
I love you from head to toe
and I'll love you forever more.

Israel Update

Erin is getting pretty close to her goal. Thank you to everyone who has donated and purchased blog templates. She is going in mid-June. Please keep her and her travel mates in your prayers.

Some have asked about her traveling to such a distressed area. Quite honestly, I didn't think she would go. The money portion seemed insurmountable but Erin is a VERY determined sort and has been saving her earnings from Starbucks as well as fundraising. The teacher who is heading up the trip is really a great guy and has done this trip many times. See Israel link above. I'm trusting that God will take care of Erin and the group and use it to help grow this group to reach the world.

Thanks again for your support.
