Back and Stuff

Busy week here. First, I have been to physical therapy 3x this week with some improvement in my back. At least I can get out of bed and put my socks on by myself today. Thursday was difficult--many spasms. If it does not get better this week, I will be making an appointment with a back specialist. Needless to say, my patience has been low and my voice raised often. I did a couple blogs this week. I have put the laptop on top of a box so that I can stand and type. I rest and use heat as needed. I feel pretty good this morning. So, hoping it will all dissipate soon.

I made it to Noah's hand Doc on Thursday. She will be doing surgery in October to release his thumb and pinky. This will allow him to have some opposability of that thumb.

He also had his eyes checked on Friday. Since his eyes did not dilate enough, we will be returning on June 6 for a followup. They thought they saw some astigmatism. Not sure if he will need glasses or just to have frequent checks.

That's life here. Not much is new. Just trying to keep it all together. Thank you to all for your concerns. I hope to have good back news this week.

Hoping your back pain gets better soon! Mine is just now starting to get better and I've been going to PT for a while. Hang in there! I too had some days of a raised voice and no patience. The back pain just takes it's toll on you!
Praying for healing SOON!

Oh, Verna! I am so sorry that you have hurt your back. I can totally understand what you are going through! I have a herniated disk that left me totally unable to move, sit, stand, walk a few months back. It was HORRIBLE!! It is such a helpless feeling, especially when you have 2 little ones to take care of. I hope that you are able to feel better very soon. After my back was feeling back to normal, which required many months of chiropractic and PT...I started taking a yoga/pilates class and it has done wonders. It gives me that very deep stretch that I need and hope to avoid a repeat of last time. Apparently when your body is stressed/tense...it is much easier to injure your spine with the least little movement. My chiropractor suggested the pilates and yoga and it has been really helping.

take care, Verna!!!

Oh Verna, so sorry to hear you are still dealing with "a thorn in the flesh"! I was so hoping you were better and out to dinner this weekend! I will keep you in my prayers. Noah also as you guys continue to check on his eyes then surgery in October. Dear father, you know how much Verna needs to be up and about with two little ones, we are asking for you to heal her back and for you to comfort her physically and emotionally as she waits on you. We pray as you are the great physician, and ask that you save her the valuable time of not having to go to specialists. In Jesus name, Amen.
