6 months old and 38 lbs

The boy, not the cat but both are growing! Sometimes I can't believe this little man has only been home for 6 months. Because of his size, I expect his understanding to match. Not so. Although his language skills are pretty good, I still find myself becoming frustrated at his inability to enunciate words. When I get really frustrated, I'm sure he does too. He stutters and I give up. Not good moments. I feel really bad that my expectations are so high and he feels bad that he can't meet them. I am glad that we will be visiting the international adoption clinic at the end of next month. Hopefully, they will be able to accurately assess his progress and tell me if he needs help with language. (Mya will be staying home or else Noah would not get a word in!) Thanks for checking in.

Our Daycation

Keith took off work yesterday and we drove to Duluth--the very best place to spend a daycation. The kids played for over 3 hours at the big sandy "deach" (Noah). We left wen it started getting chilly. Then we went to Leif Erickson park, where the roses are in full bloom. Both places are on our "don't miss" list if you ever visit Duluth MN.

How We Spend Our Time

Playing with the kitten. Notice her swiping Noah's knee. Little stinker.

Everyone needs a walking stick.

Playing outside, on the slide.

Hugging up the kitty.

Still Best Buddies!

Auntie Colleen dropped by one day. She helped the kids play train.

Sunday Snippet

Just a few shots to prove that we are still alive here.

Spent today doing a major vacuum cleaning of the house in preparation for carpet cleaning on Tuesday morning. Since I work tomorrow evening, it was going to be tough to fit that all in.
Picked up a set of "Thomas the Tanker" sheets today. Hoping that Noah will move into the twin bed later this week. Erin has decided she wants a larger bed. She's going full size and Noah gets her twin. He was so excited about the sheets that he had to have the flat one over him tonight. He's just too big for the crib and I think he will be happier in the big boy bed.
