What You Won't See

These 2 photos will not be displayed on our realtor's posting of the house. Guess our bathrooms and master bedroom were just not fancy enough ;)
Haven't they heard of the hotels that offer a cat to be in your room with you. I could swear I saw somthing about that on TV.
.
Mostly, we just aren't a huge mansion type home. So, it's hard to get pumped up about it.
.
Kinko seems to think this toilet is fascinating, though.

All Went Well

Noah's last evaluation is finished and all is well. Our SW is wonderful! Can't believe it has been 5 years since we started all this and now it's complete. Many things have changed but we will continue to be part of the Bethany family for many more years.
Here are Mya and Noah celebrating a clean house!! Tomorrow our realtor comes with a photographer. All has to look just right. Please pray with us for God's help in this move. We want to do what He wants us to do. That is sometimes a hard thing to know for sure.

Final Evaluation

Can't believe that in 3 short weeks we will celebrate

Noah being home for a full year!

Our Social Worker will do the final home visit tomorrow afternoon.

Things are going very well here. Here are two

of the pictures included for the paperwork.

The Latest

This is our house.
This is Keith's garage. Tears may fall when it is all final.

For those interested, we signed papers today to sell the house. Keith and I have had about 6-8 months to work through our emotions but I'm sure there will be more. Mya and Noah now talk about the new house (over by Jenny's house) and the big kids are still coming to grips with losing the home of their youth. It is quite an emotional roller coaster ride to sell a home you have live in for 13.5 years. Not easy but all for good reasons. So, if you want acreage north of the Minneapolis Metro, just start looking on the MLS and you may find us. OR, you can just email me and I'll send you to our realtor.
Here's Noah, just a few minutes ago. I always have to tell him not to tip his head back and not to close his eyes. He's watching Diego right now. He is the kind of kid that responds to all the things that Diego tells them to do. It's funny to watch or listen to.

Here is Mya in the Fairy outfit she got for Chrismas. I had her pose as best she could. She's already out of it and on to her Sleeping Beauty princess outfit. No question, she IS a princess!

It's all about Staging

Yep, more on the big move preparation. This is my entry way. It's hard to tell that this is about two car trunks full of treasures waiting to be picked up by the Lupus Foundation. Bless them for coming to get it all.

As for staging, I am now rearranging bookshelves to look less packed with videos and books. Don't want to look cluttered. Closets have been cleaned and de-junked. Furniture that was looking tattered has been sold and won't be replaced until we find our new home. As you can tell, I am obsessed with this process. It eats up my every moment and I am mentally exhausted.

I am about at the end of my proverbial rope getting this house ready. I have emailed Keith to tell him that we need to do it now, before I go entirely crazy. There is only some minor painting to be done and a couple other things like recaulking around the tubs and then it will be as best we can make it. God just has to be in this because I am not able to make it sell at a good price on my own power. Only he can send the right buyer.

OK, kid updates. Mya and Noah are back to daycare today. I think they will be happy to be with other kids. Too much TV watching at home lately. They did get outside for a few minutes this morning but Noah's boots were forgotten at daycare. So, his stint was short lived. Sorry, no kid pics today.

Catch you all later. ~v

Brand New Week

Today, there is no school--Happy MLK Day! So, we are lounging. Thankfully, it is warmer and Mya will probably make it outside. Not sure about Noah as his tolerance for cold is much lower than hers. Erin is home too. Well, for now. Still trying to organize and de-junk. My entry is full of stuff for the Lupus Foundation. They come on Wednesday. The garbage bin is already full as we were doing some serious tossing on Saturday. Keith has taped and plastered and will paint at the end of the week. I am working 3 evenings so that puts a damper on the house improvements.

In kid news, we were looking at homes yesterday and Mya peed her pants. If a child pees on the floor, does that make it your house?? ;) Both did well on the looking but were very tired and cranky when we got home.

My Dad is getting weaker by the day. He has lost 20 pounds since Christmas. If the weather holds, I would like to head out there this weekend. Mom is hanging in there. Not easy to watch the man you have spent your life with go down hill. Thankfully, he has said he is going to be with the Lord. There is peace in knowing that.

I did a bit of blog design late last week. Check it out here: http://momentsofdailygrace.blogspot.com/ It's for our new Pastor's devotionals.

That's about it from here. I must sign off now because the kids want to play computer games. Mya is quite proficient at working the computer!! Noah is still working on it.

Have a great week!

I Can't Believe IT!!!

I have been taking out clothing, knick knacks, shoes, bedding, etc for nearly 3 months now and it seems I have hardly made a dent. I even got rid of that old sewing machine that didn't work. Unbelievable and that is just inside the house. I haven't even looked in the out sheds because those are Keith's territory. How can one group of people accumulate so much junk?? That's what 13.5 years in one house will get you. I'm not even bothering with thoughts of a garage sale. I just want it all gone! I guess it really is time to move!!
No, Mr Brian, we are not moving to NW Iowa, just NW suburbs.

Winter--Gotta Love it!!

Today, we are part of a cold wave that has hit the US and Canada. Fortunately, unlike areas of China last year, we are accustomed to such great dips in temperature. Keith told me the outside temp (according to the thermometer on his Explorer) was -29. The house thermometer registered -22. Yep, that's cold. Schools are closed so that kids don't have to wait outside for buses. I was appauled to see a reporter on the Today Show, reporting -20 from Chicago--he had NO head covering. Maybe the next time we see him, he will be doing a report on frostbite, documenting his own trip to the ER--FOOL and bad example! I digress. Fortunately, the littles and I have no plans for today. We will flip on the fireplace and enjoy.

What else will I do today?? Lots of Sprout, Noggin and PBS--continually. I will also continue my efforts to declutter the house. Unfortunately, when I bent down to pick up a crate for books, I used poor ergonomics and felt a serious pull in my back. Yes, I should know better. I had already started doing exercises earlier this week due to some minor pulling. Now I'm hoping it was enough to spare me from a major episode. I could avoid much of this if I were committed to doing exercises daily but I am not. So, today may include some heat and ice on the back too.
Wherever you are, stay warm and if you can go outside, do so for us. We are getting cabin fever.

Pete and Repeat Do Christmas

video

I chose this video from our Christmas collection because it is representative of my daily life. Noah is such a parrot. He repeats nearly everything that we say, especially Mya. Christmas was no different. His language skills improve daily. His vocabulary is BIG and he loved Christmas. Please keep in mind we had just awoken so my voice is pretty gravely.

What do YOU find when you Download Pics??

Every time I go to download my pictures, it seems I have some surprises on my camera. I am just getting to putting the Christmas pics on my computer and look what I found. I'll post the "nice" ones tomorrow.

Getting Back in the Swing of Things

Whew! This past December was a blurry one. I'm really not sure what happened but it just got so messy. I'm sure the holidays, having a sick dad, 2 preschoolers, one teenage daughter at home, a college student in Colorado and a son who seems to be prone to car collisions, has something to do with it, but I digress. (Did I mention prepping the house for sale?--I digress, again.) I am finally feeling like I am coming out of the fog and returning to life. Christmas is over and a new year is here. There is so much to hope for. Friends will be matched with children and families will grow. We will move into a new house. Erin graduates HS. Mya will start Kindergarten; Noah, preschool. My oldest may even get married. That's just the ones I can think of right now. I'm sure there are lots more. I hope that all of you are seeing the blessings of the new year come in to focus too.
PS Noah did not get glasses. He just likes fooling around with my old glasses.

Back to It All

Keith has been on vacation for 2 weeks now. Monday means he goes back to work, Mya goes back to preschool, Erin returns to High School and the littles go to daycare when I leave for work in the afternoon. Oh boy, I feel a bad case of Sunday night blues coming on!!! Prepare for a slow wake up on Monday and possible crabby pants!
